Constitution
Old Girl has been torqued
and porked by ideologues.
Yielding such inanities
as Money is Speech
when it buys elections,
and the vague militia
of humankind is free
to try machine guns in
wasting recalcitrant
neighbors or offing
faithless lovers.
A Convention is past due.
O Left and Right will shriek
at each other, but moderates
might true her with
some modern sense.
