A Short Story Involving Cleanliness
After his third divorce, retired banker purchases 2-bedroom
condo in Palm Beach.
Guatemalan woman cleans it weekly. He wishes it neater, though, and has her come three times instead of one.
Then she lives in, having the second bedroom.
Place immaculate and stays that way even after
she sleeps with him.
He studies her country and they visit her relatives there.
Tasteful Guatemalan artifacts now decorate the apartment.
When his children pay a call, she moves back into the second bedroom but doesn't fool them. They complain to the banker and he tells them to mind their own business.
In a way–-financial, the important one--it is.
