Little Generic Brown Birds
knife in as a plunging
wave, wings roistering
decibels of buzz. Tapers
gradually to silence as
each lands on wires.
There sway
in sigh-
ing wind.
When it ceases, they
emit that buzz
of flight
as a voice.
Imitating the day
as do we.
