Losing It
Smed proud of his confusions--which
pointed to fresh conclusions.
They, in turn, gathered praise.
Sometimes, rich, full, laughter!
As if...who could have anticipated
such a delightful outcome?
Well, this is the creative life, a
privilege of few.
Until...it falters. And some ask why
go to such complexity?
And others then find themselves in company
so dull they fall asleep.
Can they ever again be witty and funny?
Soon actually not recalled that way.
Period.
