Naked Parade
Hoogah Boogah
splits our
multirace community,
oldsters bringing
special horrors,
so Council braids
an age limit.
Daniel Slats objects.
relishes the screaming
at him mid snares and
bugles and power-
ful majorettes.
DACHAU DANNY.
LONG AND SKINNY!
SUCH A WING-
WANG THING!
And the little children’s
mocking dances as he leers.
They persist
till overtired
and crying
every year.

The superstitious hear

but it’s wind

a hospice nearby and
the very last of
that generation
passes quietly.
