Location

Elsewhere, cops cut
oldsters breaks, pro-
moting a back-down, say,

from the neighbor in
the silliest dispute that
world-millisecond. But

this is Florida. Criminals
retire here too, keeping

a hand in. So a ramble
after wildflowers through

wealthy precincts
might be innocence,
or casing, so questions

asked, patrol cars impinging
with spinning red lights.

Drivers-by shake gray, respect-
able heads at the florid scene.

Employment Market–Southland

I live in Florida,
import like most.

Many are criminals.
They like warmth
and sunshine too.

Some enter politics
and hone their skills,
thereby. Until they're

swept out in outrage,
much delayed. Then re-

enlist among the formidable
thieves in the private sector.
