Playing
“Is it a rhomboid?” Mercy laughed.
Triangle proving inadequate to
describe Bit's romantic entanglement.
“Your ass is a rhomboid!” Bits snapped.
Then...pulling meditatively on their
half-gallon of Ghinny-Red.
For this once-monthly party for two,
they acted like men--they felt.
“Likely figure. One ages...could be...
Rhomboidally.”
….Musing…with dimple...Mercy.
“And, maybe more gracefully
than that?” inquires angular Bits.
“Can always hope. Been shit
up to now!”
“Bottom up!“
“Here goes nothing!” drank Mercy.
“Leave some!”
“Hey! I’M not the Little Piggy here!”
Mercy seemed so sure!
Both women, thus, sensed
disaster for her.

Signifying Arrangement
With A zonked out
on sleeping pills,
he drove to B.
Returning when
she so slowly woke.
Seven days a week.
An independent consultant,
he worked from both homes.
And when A almost decided
to break off the pills, proved
warm and supportive and
completely loving.
But agreed with physicians, “No.”
Not a hypocritical decision:
Hardly a Republican.
And when he died--had fought
a lifetime disease--both
women got their homes,
and equal amounts
of cash and stocks.
Best of friends...now.

Places
At home:
Her! Always.
He all but explodes
into a Hitler Salute daily.
But at work:
absorbs a score of
good mornings,
most fearful.
Goes it thus for years.
BOSS.
Enter, then, mincing:
Mistress.
And emotions ripped from
his fat chest.
Mme Hitler learns everything
and finds it hilarious. She does,
however, make sure of her future.
Divorce not necessary if he’s
locked in to this deal.
For now.
He signs.
Mistress acquires phantom illnesses.
Other two talk her down from sighs.
This is, however, not a nice story.
Gets worse no matter what
the parties essay.
Thank God nobody else cares!
Though they’re creative, actually.
(Last, wife works out condo deal
for amusing Mistress.)
