Signifying Arrangement

With A zonked out
on sleeping pills,

he drove to B.

Returning when
she so slowly woke.

Seven days a week.
An independent consultant,

he worked from both homes.
And when A almost decided
to break off the pills, proved

warm and supportive and
completely loving.

But agreed with physicians, “No.”
Not a hypocritical decision:

Hardly a Republican.

And when he died--had fought
a lifetime disease--both

women got their homes,
and equal amounts
of cash and stocks.

Best of friends...now.

Hamlet being right-on,
his time and ours.

Quotable

-When she died she left me
with a nice impression.

-You didn’t know her.

-I knew OF her. That was
pretty lovely...give and take.

-Superficial. Her AND you!

-I’ll accept that. Omar Khayyam
said he was never deep in
anything save wine.

Leave out the wine, we got you.

-“But I am one acquainted with the night.”

-Acquainted. That’s the keyword.
Nothing serious.

-It’s that way for everyone.

-This conversation over?

-This one only.

-Then I can stop wincing, waiting
for Hamlet to, like, emerge?

-Not tonight. “Look for me tomorrow,
you’ll find a grave man.”

-Serious?

-He meant dead. So, pretty serious.

-I’m running QUOTE BLOCKER on you!
People can talk without all this literary crap!

-Perfect program for the silly age.

In Heaven and Earth

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Hamlet died.

Seldom certain.

But Horatio slides
in the same

halfass manner by
the centuries.

Most-GOD HELP US!-
are both.

Chubby and Jackson

-Hamlet said Frailty thy name is woman!”

-Got that wrong too.

-Part of his tragedy.

-His was a great tragedy!

-Oh, I don’t know. We’re sort of on our way.

-I’m not up to killing a king!

-He had one hell of a problem with it also.

-Is it Fascism yet?

-You always ask that under
Republicans?

-Their love! Law und Order,
Crack Some Skulls. Make
America grate again! G-r-a...

-Don’t spell it! And, thereby,
The One-Percent super
comfortable?

-Both parties strive there–-
called “Reaching for the
Golden Ring.”

-Will you be brought in
for questioning and never
again heard from?

-Promise you'll remember me!

-It it's allowed. Didn’t Hamlet say
words to your effect?

-Why he’ll be forbidden.

-What happened to Reagan’s
Shining City on the Hill?

-Shines tried climbing up to it.

Becoming Decisive

-We're doing Second-Amendment Hamlet.

-How does that work? Or blast?

-Speeds it up. The horny King iced at about the eighth minute.

-And his slut, Ham's mom?

-Spared. Left to Heaven.

-That's Lady Macbeth!

-Same theme. Keep the Woman Interest.

-Speaking of which, the beautiful Ophelia?

-Still goes bananas. I have her wending whackily through the
audience, strewing posies.

-Lovely! but a distraction. Nice 38 on hand, and just one corpse
so far? What a waste!

-Not to fret! Polonious and her brother Laerties then dispatched!

-No loss with the old bullshitter, but wasn’t Laerties a bud? Ham’s
Man-Crush!  Or was that Horatio?

-Played the field. Tragic accident anyway. Our scattered hero
aiming at a hare loose at court. After all, we have a tragedy here!
Need senseless elements like life itself. Anyway, you just don’t

let up!

-And when Ham gets it in the duel? Well, who’s left with poisoned
rapier to do it?

-Osric, the flit. And New King!

-HE can’t say Good night, sweet Prince, and flights of angels
sing thee to your rest
! Too swishy!

-Rosencrantz and Guilderstern in rock n' roll duet. A totally nice bit!

-With video of the angels wearing NRA jackets?

-Vests, so the wings poke through.

The Movement--A Saga of Feeling

With simpletons allied, he
dumbs it down. In re-
sponse, they amp it up,

such righteous noise prompt-
ing young reporters to indulge
their gift of daft sarcasm. In all

the tinny racket he confides
to the most fiery spokesman that
he’s Hamlet to his Fortinbras.

Who transmutes the latter
to Farts n’ Brass,
adopting it as his nickname.

Later poised as our
sensitive intellectual's
sole contribution.
