Gusto!
(Marko and Hal, Sing, Duet, mostly)
Oh it’s always fair weather
when good fellows get together.
(great Basso-Mustering then)
With a stein on the table!
(One or the other, trailing off)
And a…a...
-The task our young women hath laid upon us is challenging but achievable.
-To somehow combine this with Barbie-Warbie’s Wuppy-Buppy Cupcake Song?
-Why not just come out as Pussies?
-Why bother? Understood!
-By the public at large?
-Universe.
-I’m not up to all that!
-Cosmic Pussies? I hear our loins girdling!
-Where are the MEN of yesteryear?
-Looking for some frilly thing to wear!
-HOW frilly?

Here and Hear
-Everyone’s afraid, but I deal with it.
-Oh? How?
-By singing.
-Uh huh? Any type of…?
-All give form. Make you here.
-H--e-r-e or H-e-a-r?
-Both.
-Do the words of the song help?
-They can.
-Inspire?
-Possibly, but...more the resonance
of the whole business.
-You as transmitter then?
-That’s the best.

Past Past
Mel and Ginger
-Saw a Perry Mason Dude taking flash picture with huge Speed Graphic! Shoots spent bulb into ashtray. Three anachronisms right there!
-Then Paul Drake helps Della into her coat?
-Making four. Quartet.
-Add yourself to make five! Tenor for a Dead World!
-High baritone!
-As ballsy!
-I try.
-Let's rent Perry's Lincoln Convertible and wave
to your fans.
-Arms worn out!

Glories of Music
The Grand Old Chorus
"You sing so richly! And under note and syllable,
always a vibrance, resonance. I can even feel
it afterwards. Don't know anything about musical
terminology: What would you call it?"
"Race."

In a Modern Vein
Not Getting It Together
-Sonabitch sings off-key. Takes some adjusting
on our part.
-Fuck THAT shit! That's "Music."
-Then what do WE...?
-No name.
-How about smirking?
-Good enough.

What the Sound Man Did
The dentist not taking, Denise hooked
back up with Herve when he returned.
"Do you promise excitement?" she laughed.
"You never know."
The second night he's wrestled to the kitchen
floor by Detectives Eccles and Raffratry.
Mistake. They sought his twin. Soon enough, they
all killed a 1.75 of Wild Turkey, Law Enforcement
telling of their more bizarre cases, and Herve of
doing the sound for incorrigible boy bands, and,
on this last trip, El Shrieko, Peruvian tenor embedded
with ragged Andean dancers.
Denise spoke of the dentist.
“A dentist who couldn't drill,” cracked Raff.
Eccles quickly asked what a sound man does exactly.
“Massages the vocal and instrumental talent, often
when there’s little or none.”
The detectives ultimately calling for a cab since
they had sent the two patrolmen back, Denise
told them it was her best time in years.
“Welcome to Civilization!” Eccles warmly proclaimed.

The Song For Making Water
-The old men ask the gods for a stronger stream.
-WHILE you’re...? Strange.
-Not to us. We chant or sing though everything.
-So if I walk through the village, I’ll hear...?
-Constantly. In the morning the young men.
-Bragging of course.
-How they destroy rocks with their peeing!
-Makes me laugh, who has to keep up potency in
all areas. With a young wife.
-Our elders would never allow such a marriage.
The young should be like an explosion!
And the old, together in gentle farting.
-Not yet.
-You say, but the gods decide!
(sings)
Life is heaven-sent.
Beg them to relent
if you dearly wish,
But gods have made the dish
already.
-Not much for you to know then. The gods handle everything.
-Why we‘re so happy!

Giving Iowa a Try
Because Baritone
lost wife Adeline
to the president
of the Stamp Club,
the rest of the quartet
said scrub the hymn
to her sweetness--her
fair face beaming
elsewhere. But he
soldiered on with
it and them.
(‘cross town, Stamp
Club's spouse had
arranged her face in
stone, hardly singing. )
When Baritone left in
tears, Tenor noodled
in Everest falsetto
And thus in daily strife
mustn’t trust
philandering philatelists
of any stripe!
Other two harmonizing.
When he took off on
All women of stone
need never-ending bone,
they booed the feeble wit. Trio
flew then to Reilly's Sump Pump,
a kind of club where self-
respect is suspect and
motives quickly surface.

Young Man Between This and That
I go with Belle Canto a bit
but we split
due to her candying everything up.
Not facing our reality.
Down the pike floods Bertha Barker.
Yow! Iron voice and man-balls.
Figuratively speaking of course.
The oldsters start advising me. Say fun
ceasing for them counting more miscues.
"Use it before you lose it!"
