Shrug Department

-What did I just HEAR?

-Nothing.

-No! A question so profound
as to be totally unanswerable!
-Nobody answers anything today!

-What's Euthanasia?

-Means you know when
you’re going.

-Is that good?

-Six of one, half dozen of
the other.

-My usual odds?

-Don’t knock ‘em!

-Best we can do?

-Hell yeah! Don’t rock the boat!

-I died...and was reborn a cliche!

-You’d be lucky!

Event, Bounce-Back

-Lost his entire mind Tuesday!

-Babel-o-rama?

-Worse!

-How sad! And abrupt!

-But gained back 90% Wednesday!

-Miraculous! And the other 10?

-Morons continuously graze.

-Will the next Pasteur or Einstein come
from one of these?

-Who knows! We’re all composites.
If we knew the formula it would
plunge us into despair!

-How can you SAY that?

-Like everything.

Another of a Million Questions

-Difference Altzy and Dementia?

-Some wild-hair protein...something
of the like. Or...uh...

-I like people having no fuckin idea
what they’re talking about!

-Me too.

-But you’re not TOTALLY full of shit!

-Goal once.

-Perfection grinds one down.

Dialog Not Happening

-I’m working on three pieces.
Two are fun and the third is
vitally, almost unbearably,
important.

-Give me a hint as to the something you see standing on third base.

-Can’t.

-Oh come on! Why be so precious?

-It’s not that. I’ve totally forgotten it!

The Theology Surround

-These babies look all cute, but they’re

as stinky as their poop!

-Original Sin! That’s a tough one!

-Just gotta be baptized. Not a biggie!
Give the priest a few bucks.

-How bout the Muslemmo ones?

-In blackest sin forever!

-That’s just too hard for a little baby!

-Uh huh? But if everybody acts like a fairy, where do we get?

-Hey! Thinking all about it gets too fancy.
The Eagles won the Super Bowl!

-That’s complicated enough for the both of us!

-It’s like a lot of shit ideas. You laugh them off and then a century goes by and…?

-Let’s give em another century! Why the fuck not?

Finding

At the newer weather service,
she was never on live anymore.

Way it worked out, nothing
to do with her appearance,
which remained chipper
and pert.

She joked with her husband,
who got more and more face
time due to his great-fella
persona.

The last time in the Capital of
Blizzards, Buffalo.

The van broke down there, and
he and the crew had to endure
an extra day getting it dug out
and repaired and de-grimed.

Del met Victor then. Dropped in
at the dark cocktail lounge he
owned when she couldn’t sleep.

When Cliff had a remote in Portland,
Maine for a howling Nor'easter out of
Canada, she returned to Victor and
they discussed the poetry he had
recommended.

Romance? Nonsense! Though his
terrible limp intrigued.

One of the young women got mono,
and she found herself on camera again,
together with Cliff in Nova Scotia.

When she returned to the cocktail
lounge, Victor had died!

She was asked to say something
at his memorial service the following
Tuesday.

She worried at to the literature content
some expected, so went to the quirky
bookstore to inquire as to a suitable
tragic poem she could read.
But Jellybean Shawcross--her actual name--offered to impersonate her instead. “That dark lighting! They really don’t know what you look like!”

Del said no way!

But Jellybean challenged “Aw come
on! Faint heart na’er won Fair Lady!”

Deal struck, and Cliff stuck in
Philadelphia that hailing night
anyway. “Size of Quarters!”

Jellybean reported to her around
eleven as to the completely
successful ruse, and they couldn't
stop laughing.

The more they giggled and drank,
as the rain pounded, the more
apparent she’d stay the night.

Views

Insisted Ruhrf:

-Only one thing to discover.
Where's the ox in the paradox?

Countered Delsey:

-You say that for sound.

Shrugged Laurel In Mist:

-And if he did? Isn't that much
more of a better start?

Snapped Ralph, our Conservative:

-The Final Degradation!
No meaning!

Smiled Ruhrf:

-Let's ride with melody a bit.
Closer to Truth.

He knew his brain

a first draft
forever.

Unless...?

Hoped and prayed
this new woman

would put on
the adroit finish-
ing touches.

She did, to everyone’s
amazement

he became articulate,
even encyclopedic
after a while, and some

comments so pointed that
all his friends fled:
even sarcasm closed

to them by his flood-
ing words, damming

fragments of which
they still hear
in spasmodic dreams.

A woman’s voice,
clearly.

The Bends

-That’s it then! We’ve established
that you know everything.

-Slight exaggeration.

-So, how define Feminism?

-Living revengeful is the best well.

-I like conversing with you. Adds up
to nothing.

-Crazy Math is a motor, not a crutch.

Co-Dependents

Marcie-Jen flat out lied!

Frequently challenged, she complained that people
painted her into a corner, thus forcing more lies.

“That much is true,” maintains our Elder One.
"You shouldn't show how clever you are by
trapping her."

“Yeah, first you should work on your own behavior
first!” That from Derrick, who never did. And fancied her.

He was warned away by the wise Elder. "Just don't depend
on her! Push will really really come to shove, and she'll
let you down by telling the truth."

“Then the truth will be a lie!” added Tess, who thought
that funny.

“We’re getting to something here!”

“Yeah, Philosophy!” Derrick spat. “No wonder I flunked it.
Religion too! Same teacher. A small college.”

Too many of those!  And we went off on Education, leaving
Marcie-Jen to lie as a lifestyle.

Company Romeo

Small-bore Strategies

She's a one for talking after. Revealing more
than he wants to hear.

So he asks "Do you know how long it takes to
scoop up a dude in the North End when he's been
totaled in a drive-by?"

This proves good defuser.

At any rate, not any problem he can't handle. None.

Including, soon, Linda, from Shipping.

Talking

-Why don't you name your name?

-Whoa! One too many there. Could give the name
you already know. But no reason to.

-Then, instead, express it in a true expression!

-Life is short! Have you heard that expression?

-It drags. Unless we put language to it.

Repartee

-Why?

-WHY?

-You should say Why not? Or a variation.
Or even a total curve ball from another and
unexpected quarter.

-Why?
