Dump
Her dump of Harold was now fully in effect.
They were to speak, of course, but only
in softly polite generalities.
Brenda saw him at the Little League Parade,
and both merged moderately sunny hellos.
Then an old woman fell into the path of
the Crestview Drum and Bugle Corps.
Bugsy, bass drummer and joker, gave the
incident his loudest thump!
Then, more staccato ones as his colleagues
disarrayed.
Harold plucked her back through all this
stumbling and random toots.
To the bleachers, where he cleaned her
face with tissues. Finally, stroked her hair.
Voice light as his touch.
“Goddammit all to hell!” sobbed Brenda,
“Why are you so good? You’re always
so fuckin...!”

The Modern Question
Rells mixes up his meds.
Takes the morning ones
at bedtime.
Immediately feels better!
Hudgy, bud of some
therapeutic years, concurs.
“You stumbled into cure!”
“It won’t last.”
“Not with that attitude!”
“Ever hear of Placebo Effect?”
“What HAVEN’T I heard of?”

Protocols
After the painful duck mishap, the Hennesy Twins, Andrea and Angelica, couldn’t stop screaming--and they were mere spectators.
Everybody in the car was fine, though shaken.
Grandpa claimed operatic discomfort while exiting,
but forgot it when the state trooper showed.
but forgot it when the state trooper showed.
Cpl Nethers sent for a Duck Translator.
Few, of course, so we’re lucky to have
Dr Bensural from the University.
The Mother who led the scraggly procession
first thanked the twins, some of their crying
being duck words.
She apologized to the rest for the jiving
duckling who got hit, but was okay, and
hoped he had learned something.
Then Dr Bensural made a wry face,
but waved off our questions until
the duck procession resumed.
“She said she never knows how to act
towards those who might eat her on
another occasion.”

Invitation
In the Supply Room,
Relly pitched forward
as the pile of cartons
gave way, struck his head
on an old wooden filing
cabinet.
“Where...am I?” he asked
Bent, the college intern,
who helped him back to
his desk.
He appeared dazed all
morning, and was left
out of the usual sarcastic
loop.
Many were for taking him
to a doctor, but "Judge"
Halliday, the office elder
prevailed, everybody
sharing Dunkin Donuts and
coffee.
Delsey Flowers made sure
Relly got his sugar treat!
“Do I like these?”
He gradually came to, but
not before a Visitation,
everybody at lunch.
A shining young woman, all
in white, as the computers
shimmered around her.
Relly blinked and blinked.
"I...hit my head."
"Would you like to see my cunt?"

“Just how do Lesbos do it?”
asked Ambrose.
“I don’t know, but they know how to press
each others double-hot buttons.”
“Tongue them, you mean.”
All this, while maneuvering the cables in
place to lift the 40s era safe from the floor,
out the place from whence the skylight had
been removed, and down to the street.
Ambrose continued the operation from
there. Maxy-O had jumped into the crane
on the roof, and awaited his instructions via
walky-talky.
Everything cautiously perfect. Then a
cable snapped, the ends looking like
bits of lightning.
The deep green safe hung at an angle
for a few beats, while the blue sky
darkened.
It slipped and plunged, flattening the
fleeing Ambrose.
They took him home and slid him under
the door to his wife, who, of course, had
never seen him that way.
Couldn’t resist all that last, and the Lesbians
should be pleased.

Bubbles and Martyrs
Stages of Piquant
Jen was piquant when they married.
But his last daydream image of her showed
a crown of thorns.
Before the stone fell from the Oxley Building.
She keeps the Channel Six report on her iPad.
Yellow tape and numerous officers.
In Dr Kildad Morrisey's course The New You!
she’s becoming piquant again.
Grayer.
