end
-(sings) I'll take you home AGAIN, Kath...
-Another stupid song?
-I thought...your name being K...?
-My mother Irish, father kike.
-Oy! Begorah!
-I hate you!
-Witless, it's a leap for you.

Fixing Up
-His girlfriend dumped him so
ceremoniously–-everything but
a brass band!--hardly a corner
in this fair city where they’re
not on Humiliation Watch.
-There to laugh at him uproariously?
-The poorer sectors, yes.
-For richer?
-Thrusts, sophisticated and exquisitely
cruel.
-So, bottom line, everywhere he goes he’s
shamed? Piling on to his wretchedness?
-Whammo! Or weewee.
-People are disgusting!
-Since he won’t but speak two words
or so in his depression, I’m trying
to fix him up with Jolly Judy.
-She’ll lift him!...or talk him to death.
-She’s the only choice. A normal girl
not into therapy, but fun!
-How come you always need to have
fun with other folks, and they’re usually
the worst?
-What’s that movie? Death takes a Holiday?
Well, people let go of their sour funks from
time to time.
-Catch ‘em on the upswing?
-The only way!
-Is the ordinary condition misery?
-Screw you!
The Definition
-They call me dumb. Everybody calls me dumb.
-Okay, now let’s just examine what that means?
-You’re right about that. They’re awfully mean!
-No, you misunderstood.
-See!

Approaching the Dating Scene
The clever people in Marcum's skull suddenly fled.
The last to leave being the fellow who asked Gwen,
"What time is it getting to be? My biological clock
has gone haywire!"
When he asked her out then, she went ice.
And such a warm creature!
But later, further ascertaining his new dopeyness, she accepted.
In fact, his dating calendar became full.
"It's true!" he informed Berkie, his close friend, "Inarticulate is the
new Flavor of the Month!"
"Have the girls gotten equally as stupid?"
"Nah, they're the same. Smart as hell! And Jean-Ann cuts the legs
out from under you with her wit!"
"You're a fad. Everybody'll get sick of you in no time.”
“You're hitting my fear!”
“It's no doubt. Then where'll you be?"
“Wherever they want! I'll adapt. “
"There's the conundrum! Is it easier to become somebody else if
you're dumb? Or if you're clever?"
“I don't know but I'll...!”
“You'll WHAT?”
“What we were saying.”
“I don't think so!”

Après Passion
-Are you crying, me potent bucko?
-Just came back to me for some reason. You don't know
what it's like to be dumb. Laughed at when the teacher
calls you!
-No, I go to Yale. It's all attitude. And in my case...beauty.
Audrey Hepburn anyone?
-I’d be afraid. I'm sure students there would enjoy
humiliating me.
-Not this one. Hey! You got a dong belongs in a song.
Quite a shame to bake it unnecessarily behind the grill
at the International House of Pancakes.
-Giggling after what you construe as surreal aspects.
I've noticed it before.
-I thought you were dumb.
-That's merely language I just said.
