The Creation of Paradise
proved, as much does, political.
No problems whatever for those
desiring gooey cheeseburgers and
chocolate peanut butter cups--to
mention the more trivial requests--
but posher cuisines had to be limited.
As you can imagine, the real hangup
came with Sex.
Which the Preamble had already
projected as "Wholesome and Abundant."
A group arose, self-designated "Fiends!"
They wanted to amend the Preamble, but
Chair ruled that language had already
been voted in.
The Fiends then chanted, and performed
lascivious dances!
They were expelled, but continued outside,
surrounded, of course, by TV Cameras.
To everyone's satisfaction, they were
eventually transferred to the Arch-Fiend.
We felt that Heaven had to stand for something.

The Match
The man who zigs
when he should zag
met the woman who zags etc.
The result: accidents.
But not always. Athwart
core structure,
they assist
each other.
Go figure.

Women today are calling each other sluts
in a friendly manner. Linguists can tell us how
some language develops like this.
Thus, anyway, the word slut loses it shaming aspect.
Not a worry.
The Despicables will coin another.

Mike and Gladys-Ann Discuss Morality
-He was our little-boy leader. And one day,
stole the last cookie. When his parents confronted
him he put on his famous face of sheer guilt.
-And from that seed...?
-The Chevvy Gang. Drove aimlessly for hours
and then hung out in McDonald's parking lot.
-So? Teen Nothing. Who hasn't experienced it?
Where's the hook to this bland story?
-I don't know. How 'bout his present domicile?
Death Row. Quentin.
-That could be serious.
-Eventually. Anyway, drug killing.
-How marvelous of him to exemplify what
full-of-shit adults warned us of. How the
pettiest misstep early would lead to heinous
crime.
-Evil has steps, as does morality.
-When Marx heard morality in connection to
the obedient bourgeois we all are, he burst
out laughing.
-That's why he's Marx. Rest of us cope.

Alright, not
Blues in the Night.
Partners' ears shut
prior to leaving.
This new one wishes
the moment only, but
you reject such a call,
by persisting in a history
ripping others, thus wield-
ing old saws of
morality painting
you correct. The wreck's
ahead, ghost ship lum-
bering in awful mists.

Mamba Snake in Coffee Room
At least the dream offhand.
Dr L in last-gasp Freud-speak
pounces "repressed Homosexuality!”
Dr Y counters with “slithering Evil!”
But Dr P scoffs at their “Theological
lies!” His trump, the latest: “Nothing
ever means anything. Period.” Quoting
Duke Ellington’s “It don't mean a thing”
then--to lighten the explicator’s touch.
“And it most definitely ain't got no swing!”
2 wags add. Anyway, P’s approach fated
to lose in Academy life. They
simply won’t promote you:
be meaningless anyway!
Our Freudian, though, frets
not, what with clinical Texas
and Virginia probing vaginas.

-My clipboard shows you reverting hundred
percent to old habits.
-Accurate.
-Do they make you happier?
-Don’t know the concept. Just know I got totally
fuckin sick of the constantly improving me. Prig!
-So, the sick neurotic preferable?
-It takes a beer and screams at ballgames.
-You could’ve become decent and still enjoyed some pleasures.
-Yeah, guilty pleasures they’re called.
-Ah hah! You feel guilt?
-Not a bit of it.
-You’ll come back.
-I’ll talk about it when drunk, lending the goody-goodys hope.
-We can point to many who have come...
-And may God have mercy on their milky souls!
