Dynamic
Woman forgot nothing marries--adds
to everyone's burdens presently!
Except Groom’s, a steady-state-
drunk laughing this newest farce
away. Both tribes despair
at the ludicrous match, fret
fate of Clans' staid bourgeois
reputations when kids erratically born?
So what? Life, itself, struggles
regardless. "Big Deal!" tee-
totales she between his un-
conscionable belts of crap-booze:
Endless Loop!
Yeah, but our Bride smells nice still!
Meantime Groom-Souse drops vile
poop, proclaiming the grunting-while
his muddled stores of bitterly disagreeing knowledge as the only way to begin getting anywhere in learned discourse. For answer, she
giggles here and there as to him as
“#1 sexy bastard going!” (referencing
those few times he’s half-sober…
or brutally hungover.)
They’ve bought motorcycle!
She, only, drives for he's
forever fogged when plotting
to seek a license.
But and a MUST! She’s only happy In CONTROL. That never, ever, has
changed. Nor will.
Uh, True Love, then, knows more
then it lets on? That awfully Weird,
Yes?
Nope. Is what is...just is!
That's all.

Mean Man Marries
his pointed equal--stating
it mildly.
She, then, does worry
as he garners facts
in a game played
to win! Only! Thus,
topping her--though some-
what methodically?
Not a bit of it!
She yells back
against his truly-
learned babble. He
simply…CANNOT…
understand her: his
Proclamation!
Then, in bed, it’s
quick results
or do something else!
(Often involving her
Honda Scooter.)
His few friends pop round
thereupon, telling
him GROW UP!
Lately…worst yet…
occasions arise
whence
he forgets snide.
Sarcasm’s driving
beat coddling
old love ballads
nobody believes.
Yet THEY do! This odd PAIR!
She shades 40 mph later:
Lower Commerce Bypass. He
grips her dearly! gold jersey
twists both their names mid flash-
ing silver dragons on his back.
He calls them Yeks, Nekkie.

Flies buzzed,
then died, their tiny
bodies on the sill.
We get high. Hey!
Shit cost enough!
Later Delsy wakes in grayest funk
hissing our apartment’s filthy!--
and we’re not far behind it!
So, scrub ourselves 1st,
then clean the place! How deep-
ly for once!
"This boy pre-

She understood!
Male drives,
so stands she next to
garaged Camry. Wood
radio intones how tell Lady
she smells? Now, Bartram
answering “Easy! Say
Jill-Ann you stink!
(More such areas than men:
who top you in PUTRID, not
Geography)” Takes “Forest-
Mist” from oily shelf, and prom-
ises “NO PEEK!” Then backs out.
“Maybe later?” she laughs,
coyly pushing red thing down.

All For Love
-But during all the awfulness,
you still loved her, right?
-Let’s get this straight, like,
immediately! Everybody
loves everybody else in
the midst of the shitstorm!
-Why you getting angry?
-Love. Love makes me angry!
-That’s perverse.
-Thank God you’ve NAILED it!
Allows me to breathe again.

Love and War
Gen and Austin pride
themselves on their
quirks.
Agreeing that two
neurotics don't make
a true crazy.
But Gen has begun wondering
if they do.
Their last quarrel escalated
so, and the sex after was
rushed and awful.
Finally, Austin makes the
case for their sanity as
both refuse to die for the
“cause” in a war with the
dogpatch nation who insulted
our Executive and Congress.
Patriotism reputed to be
the last refuge of the
scoundrel, but our two
meretricious branches
cycling well past.

Making Faces
Britsy had a full dozen, but Finn but one
really. That is, he was a lousy actor.
Well, anyway, they based their recent
life on Dr Kildad Morrisey’s Why Not Now?
A tome encouraging one to develop
faces for situations.
As a matter of fact, or face, her latest
was the "Why Not Now?"
When she put that one on in an argument,
it carried the day, and they cleaned both
apartments, as an example.
And lately brushed up her late aunt’s,
the original Britsy. Long shuttered in
a family dispute.
In preparation for their moving there.
Practical in that it was downtown, near
work, and they could jettison the cars.
And the historical society would take all
the crap off their hands since Old Britsy
had been a war bride, and cabaret singer.
New Britsy had to buy out her two sisters.
But forced on her No Problem Face.
Now to him, Finn. Of the one face. He knew
he was being rushed into things and would
soon be living with her as more or less
husband and wife.
His shrug wasn’t in any book, but expressed
as well as one of her faces what Frost
was getting at in The Oven Bird, the little
feister who sings at the very end of Summer.
“What to make of a diminished thing?”
The both of them were diminished things
and doing their best, though she had
more faces of course.

Criminal Match
A Man With Felonious Intent

You'd think Society'd be

angelic! This partially explain

The Meaning of Something
Mr Nevers was perfectly nice.
-Well! Then! Is it A or B?
Jordan was sure of A, and
Louisa pretended to be.
But she couldn’t keep it up.
-We need more time!
So, Nevers suggested a fifteen
minute break.
Whereupon Louisa brought out
the guns previously sheathed.
Outcome?
-I’ll go along with you, and B, if you’ll
just shut up!
Thus Jordan worn down. Another of
her little victories.
When the conversation resumed
with Nevers, the smiling man
accepted B, but mentioned that
the computer had suggested C
and that he, himself, was confident
in D.
Louisa took them all on. No machine
or bureaucrat or husband would
defeat her. End of story.
Except for your opinion. The decision was
1 Right!
2 A disaster!
3 The usual inconclusive mishmash.
4 Forgotten, anyway.

An Old Song
Ancient, Even
The couple who threw shade
wondered why their friends
had left. But, some clue.
Decided, then, re scattering
bits of light into the tribal mix.
And they returned! So a trade

Little Pinky Winky
He was super-cautionary
in his saying, lest he
injure sensitive friends.
But Deirdre stiffened when
he referred to a town councilman
as Little Pinky Winky...his socialist
tendencies--mostly.
"What my parents called me and
I hated it!"
Then she went on to hint that
Carl knew that, and was making
fun of her."Why not? Everybody
else does!"
But he assured her, merest
coincidence.
Went on to assert that in the
infinite universes, somebody
was saying Little Pinky Winky
right now.
Deirdre didn't want to hear it!
Accused him of repeating those
words just to injure.
He promised he'd never utter
those injurious words ever again!
Too late! Slammed the door in his face
eventually.
And in his infinite universes, how many
millions of doors etc? At this instant!
I'll stop; he's tiresome.
And she's done with him forever!
No great loss to either?
Now now, we’re called upon to be more
tolerant in this single, imperfect world, yes?

After the breakup--
horrendous!--
Heck and Lucy never met again,
though living in a five mile circle.
After two years, he thought he
spied her athletic rear in Home Depot,
and followed at a distance.
But that woman was soon hectoring
a clerk in Lighting. Lucy was a
smoother operator.
Friend Lincoln: "Statistically you have
to meet her soon, unless the gods
of sanity are holding you magnetically apart."
"l'm dreading."
"That's you! She has moved on!
But you're a nonentity from nowhere
doing nothing!"
"Helps me breathe."
"You know what I do when faced with
a really human conundrum? I ask
what would a grownup do?"
"ln my juvenile case?"
"Phone her! Hey been two years and I wondered..."
"Yeah? And where from there?
She's unpredictable! What if she
wants to hook up again?"
"A fear completely groundless!”
l just want you two chatting and
hanging up. Perfect! Now you
can meet by accident without
a stroke."
"Nonentitiy, hey?"
"Well not ALWAYS!"
