Their Less-Than-Great Debate

L-R

-Each side waits for the other to slip, and then
pounces full force!

-Is it a long wait?

-Never.

-What’s the difference then?

-The Left sins with excessive, and often silly,
regulation, but their hearts in a safe place
for us all, usually. If halfass. But...really
makes for pointed satire.

-And the R...?

--Total pricks!

-I heard they were hundred percent for the Wealthy!

-How can you say that?

-Maybe, their actions?

What Darlene Thinks

Lifetime Cruise

Refurbished and all suites. Taking the old
super rich farts to ancient sites, along with a
battalion of Four Star Hotel Chefs.

High on the proverbial hog! And enough champagne
to float the damn ship!

But week in, everybody got sick. Then the crew
did too. Debilitated.

Then all died. Legionaires’ Disease suspected.
From the A/C.

Coast Guard sent a Hazmat Team to clean up,
another to guide it to a port. And to pathologists.

Twenty First Century Ghost Ship!

The wealthy ones’ adult children have already
been refunded.

As if that’d stop the lawsuits!

Chief Betts to Chief Anders, handlers, departing
the bridge when finally there:

-I’m wondering: Why can’t they clean a ship?
I mean really clean!

-Why can’t they clean anything?

-What’s this? Alexandria?

-At least our odds are better home.

-And IT’S filthy too!

-What will Darlene think when you try to
make love in your hazmat suit?

-What she always thinks.

-What's it like to be so so immensely rich?

-You've known me since kids, and a question like that?
Like from some cheap website!

-I'm curious sometimes. But haven't felt free to ask.

-You're free to say or do anything? How can I control you?

-Through that coal-black dude looks like a wall, watching
us while pretending not to.

-A gentle giant.

-I'm sure. And if I did a thing we did as kids assing around...
like grab that pen from that threadbare flannel shirt pocket...?

-He'd be all over you like a cheap suit!

-Being constantly watched! Jesus! Bodyguards!

-Used to it. And hate it. Both.

-Get death threats?

-Daily, I suppose. They don't tell me.

-Can you ever get alone?

-In the inner portions of the island. The bad guys can’t get
through the cameras on the perimeters.

-Owning an island. Like to try that!

-As everything, tremendous responsibility! Besides I don't
own it entirely. There's that resort.

-Felicity Blot? Who the hell ever heard of such a name?

-Lady author, Victorian times, pen and ink, and thus...

-The modern name is Fuck-a-Lot. Did you know that?

-No, I didn't.

-Another rich dude parks the crazy wife at Bide-a-Bit, and
then breaks in the new secretary there. A giggler!

-Whatever. I can’t supervise the morality there.

-Bullshit! You own the resort too!

-I can't say that I do.

-Yeah, for tax purposes--where you're a criminal, really.

-True, but a legal one.

-How can you live with yourself?

-Rather easily when it's only me.

-Meeting in Paris apartment next, according to
Wall Street Journal. Girl in every port sort of thing?

-All business. Drenched in business.

-And scaring the shit outa the guys in suits, I'll bet.

-A regrettable part, always.

-You really are a prick after all's said and done!

-Guilty. But the only way I keep things in line.

-Then London? Rio?

-Same show. Thence back to island.

-Where the female employees of the resort constitute a harem.

-I only can handle one at a time!

-Life is mostly an immense cramp in the balls for you, but it
has, yes?, its compensations?

-Love that last word!

Robotic Sweetie

Lifelike

Lillian’s life-sized doll, the robot Jennie-Ann.

Doormen love chatting with it prior to Lillian’s walks.

Father, intrigued, acquires an adult-sized one, which wife laughs off as midlife nonsense. “No use having sports car in the city, so he has his... ” She calls it Princess Hungaria, after its accent.

He does get the sports car too. A Porsche.

“If you’re gonna be an asshole, why not go total?”

wife quips.

Funny thing happens during his drive to the future. After traffic stop with the robot driving--he drunk–-reveals an actual woman.

“Hunkie Whore from Jersey City!”

Girlfriend Gladys, who always takes the Eve Arden part, remarks “Sounds like a song title.”

“I got a song for him: A Judge Who Thinks He’s Funny.”

That’s just part of the lyric. Song is Making Whoopie.

“And I can’t think of a melody more expensive for balding Romeo-Fatso.”

“Please, no satire. Or accuracy.

“My lawyer says we open at fifteen million.”

“No chance for patching it up?”

“When I got young studs panting after me?”

“I’d like to see a pant in my direction. Just one.”

“You sell yourself short.”

“None of that around here.”

The Rich

aren’t directly load-
ing taxes on
the Middle Class.

Really, they only know
that they themselves
should pay little or none.

Could give a shit less
who’s eventually stung.

Feeling it beneath
their business.

The 1% Rise in Protest!

They pay, they pronounce,
what’s legally owed in
taxes. Change the law!

rag they if you don’t
especially cotton to it.

In the Land of the Free
one man’s Law is

another’s screwing.
But it’s so important

for the Nation that
the Rich soldier on

as they face impiety
from all sides,
save the legislative.

Silk Trade

I’m a lobbyist for the wealthy. Thus, in the slang, a silk merchant. And, naturally, rewarded enough to be
among them.

The public is beset with pie charts showing how much their
own slice has diminished.

What to recognize is that my clients want the whole pie.

Historians tell us it can’t sustain. Unrest and revolution
in the works. Uh huh. Some local unrest possible, in those
places where people still have a pair.

Hey! Volkswagen wants to build a factory. Do they put it in
Boston? More likely the South, where, for all the macho
posturings and guns, you find the most docile workers
in the world.

And for them, it’s not that far back to gnawing a turnip
for a special treat.

So, if you oppose, start buying legislators. Most not
anxious to leave the stable. You might have some luck
with Democrats, since other side exhibits universal
suck-ass zeal for our cause.

Mega Rich

Mega Entitled. But, in what seems
departure, testifying before a board.

Though widely prepared by Argus-
like advocates, one still must react

to wild cards infiltrating
those bought or

partially thus. (What hath
God wrought, really?) But

even mildest questions touch
chicanery. If it’s empaneled in
America, the affluent victim can

implore audiences to Remember
the Maine, Plymouth Rock and

the Golden Rule. If UK, to this
last add Magna Carta.

Patriotism has been known before
to keep sore patriots from prison.

So, as the untainted few craft queries
painting one a miscreant, blind fool,
or incompetent, Mea Culpas delivered

with understandable force. It's all, of course,
a common farce. The old courthouse maxim
applies: You get the justice you can afford.
