new as always

Chucksy vents that

nobody does what

the fuck they

promise when. Once

he knows it

he nods

to further blab.

Then off.

When he wakes

they're jibber-

jabbering still.

“...and do you know

where you ARE?”

Not Heaven.

Wouldn’t stink so!

Remnants

-Well...remaining smart the two of us.
Despite everything!

-Been.

-A...decline note you?

-Precipice!

-The Mountain Goat leaps from precipice
to precipice and back again to piss.

-A blessing we both can do that at least.

-That goes too, the hose.

-Before or after the brain.

-Simultaneous!

-Well I’m okay with both.

-You should ask Gwen.

-You’re mixed up! She left YOU!

-Shame. And during my third reinvention.

-How’d that go?

-Going Great! I’m helping to start BANDSTAND for WHEEZERS!

-Better than yours truly. They just
called me in to offer a puny
termination package.

-Did you inform them that you
once led that outfit, now so
esteemed?

-Me or it?

-Sorry. Never again you or me.

-Will they stamp our foreheads?

-Already have.

Bristols

-I went from Bristol Stomp to Bristol Chart!

-Clever enough. Best to stop there.

-Or from Merrie Olde to…?

-You were warned! Bristol in the song
is in Pennsylvania!

-Can’t be! Wouldn’t fit in my brilliant compendium!

-You won’t hafta rethink Chart. Knowing your erratic bowels, got that right!

-Ah the nature of what I get straight nowadays!

-Characteristics of various poops with
photos in various browns--mostly. Aesthetics is wonnerful!

-Not many songs about growing old, except the sloppy sentimental.

-The body presents most problems clearly.

-Not to say clinically.

-Too! So much that some folks opt out.

-Overdoses most common in that sad gang!

-Fight on! Courage wasted on the young anyway.

-Isn’t everything?

Leadership

“Every day!” he beamed!

“And in every way!” rushed we!

“We’re getting better and better!”

We took turns embracing him,
clapping him on the back.

OUR ACKNOWLEDGED VERBAL LEADER!

Then sang to him after he asserted
“The impossible DOES take longer.”

Our exuberance would have lasted
the whole evening, but he, unfortunately,
expired.

Through grief unending, we still remembered to phone Police Commander Swirtzky.

Who later asked the requisite questions to determine absence of foul play.

Then entered DP into his tablet.

DEATH BY PROVERB

“Older they get, more the case,”
he added to us.

We pounded his back and sang to him.

Bewitched

He had told his mother that if he
were suspended over a vat of
boiling oil, he could still remember
his list of ten numbers to save
his life!

One day he forgot one.

Then, mobilized! God knows the
very air full of wry jokes as to
Alzheimer Moments. So, took
action.

With two new schemes to never
again forget.

His ex told him to relax, everybody
forgets, and it doesn’t always have
to do with advancing age.

Uh huh? Well, won’t happen again!

His company located around
a central quad, social space.

They were told that the following
week a voluntary survey would
be taken.

When asked, he participated.

The two young people were
charming and funny.

Especially the girl, so lovely.
And quick!

So, all in buoyance, really.
Nice!

Our hero afloat on the sea of
her fresh loveliness.

What’s wrong with that?

“Name?” concluded they.

Didn’t miss a beat! Well...
tiny one.

Rod Kreutzer!

Then he told them he had been
kidding. Jerry Algret.

“You’re a CARD, like my father!”

“All cards,” whispers the young man.

-What happens when

a body meets a body
coming through
The Catcher in the Rye?

-You do something lovely
with that body.

-And vow to do something
even lovelier to another?
Thus entering a wider sense?

-All very sweet!

-All very brittle.

-Oh well. What do you expect?

-What we get.

-How old are you?

-I’ve forgotten.

Kneeling in the garden in the rain

Loamy aroma worth
the gradual soaking

as I'm nearly blind.
And don’t know
the birth

names of the wild-
er plants glimpsed

as in vaguer dreams,
Carlos winnows
things weekly, hence.

For some reason,
I grow impatient
to be drenched!

The air not being water
enough.

The Vital Exercise

We climbed the rope ladder.

Carefully! As a team. Buck, Jasmine and I.

A wrong move could send the other two
smashing into the wall!

Anyway, slow process because of our ages.

Once there, we made sure to pull it up.

Just before the young wastrels packed
the courtyard, begging us to let it down!

Love the bitter looks waving over the
upturned faces.

As we thrust a unanimous finger at them!

When No One Goes

“Jeanette DIED!”

It's Clacky, and he's always EMPHASIS!

“What do you mean, died?”

“How...old...?” From Ancient Walter.

I didn't know really what that last meant, nor anyone else.

Finally, Mitz said “I...heard of people choosing it.”

“But why would anyone? Especially Jeanette!”

Nothing has ever left us so confused.

We had met daily up till then.

It became sporadic after, and then ceased
altogether. The various electronic ways
kept us acquainted. But they acquired a
robotic feel.

“She was always drama!” Bob did conclude on his
continuous blog. “She’d never want to stop that.
I just don’t get it!”

So we all chipped in to bring her back!

The Retriever an odd one to put up with, but it's
actually going well. Though, of course, they stretch
it out to charge us more.

So, another hundred from each, and Hops finally explodes
with “The more things remain the same, the more they change.”

He’s always ass backwards,

Didzy makes Jeanette a Forever Pudding. And we meet
just so she can show it. Will last until she's finally back!

“I'm so glad. I hurt her fifty years ago, and never really
fixed things up.” Thus, Krell broods. His way.

“What's a year?” All the young people want to know.

We tell them to not bother.

Getting Along

Three Christmas Paragraphs

"God bless us every-onnnnne!"  Santa, in Bermuda shorts, falling
into The Diplomat's pool.

Hoad met the last bus, but no Marie. Back to Kool Kup, his cell on.
There, the few speculated on what could've happened.

After Mom's death, the original garage was sold. Now, Walt presides over The Tuneup Center’s purchase by Dollar Bonanza. That money gets Dad into Pine Murmur, where he insists on Christmas, Bitsy coming early to cook. And drink: "Somebody's car was always more important than the two of us!" Dad says no cars would’ve meant no college! Walt smooths it over, and they eat, then exchange gifts. Next year, his place!--Dr Mauro expecting Lornette to be discharged from Bide a Bit soon. Bitsy starts crying because her recently-departed Rence had been the only man she truly ever...! Dad switches off the chandelier so they can enjoy the tree.

The Revolution Where Quite a Few Attend

Gauging Aged Militancy

-When the Revolution comes I'll be too old.

-No excuse! You'll hafta choose!

-Okay, is there a word for the most extreme Left?

-Righties will say Communist.

-They won't know shit then either!

-Besides, even in a Revolution, one must
moderate his views. Sometimes hourly.

-Uh huh? And finally end up back with the rapacious righty mess we have now? FOR SALE!

-Money-Cronies arguing like hell to keep it

even as we speak! Actually, because we speak.

-That's their patriotism!

-We'll always have such patriots, sending minimum
wagers to glorious deaths.

-Anything would be better.

-No, not anything.

Fatal Golf

Back from the beach
of a cold day and the
kids are swimming,

and throwing their
little bodies against
frigid waves. If an

icy one slammed my nuts,
be like Reaper swung

that sickle into the sea
like a 9-iron.
